Shekhar Suman ki Tedhi Baat

To me, Shekhar Suman is the face of indian television comedy. From Dekh Bhai Dekh to Great Indian Laughter Challenge to this new one - Tedhi Baat.
Comedy in itself rings the bells of excitement and energy and thats exactly what this show lacks. The SLOW and BORING and I simply don't understand why Gurpaal Singh is always so indifferent more like a puppet. Zero expressions. Zero punches for him? but why?

"Dus Rupaiya"

I saw this "Dus Rupiya" ad recently. The song is a parody of the song "Dus Bahane" from the 2005 movie "Dus". And I thought to myself, that old song that hasn't lasted on anybody's lips? In an ad some 4 years later? Insane.
Priyanka looks stunning as usual, but the ad is pure idiocy. Insane!!

And then I saw another one of Priyanka's Lux ad. Its a little older maybe and in Bengali. Watching this ad, the first question I asked myself was, why didn't they just translate it to hindi??? Its this fabulous ad! Priyanka looks better than ever. The visuals are nice. The song is an all time hit. And it would have been cheapter too!!
Gosh!! INSANE!

5 Little Genelias...ummm...really?

Really who thought about this ad? Actually, even the idea isn’t so bad. But the execution is pathetic. It looks totally fake. Even the bounces of the choco-balls aren’t made well. And she seems to make squeaky and squashy noises.

Furthermore, the ending. She split into 5? Ohhkayyy!

She split into TINY 5 GENELIAS??? So tiny that they are like little pocket turtles in the backseat?

And the friends? The girl is still giving a surprised look, the boy is totally fine with this. Its normal, right, people spliting into 5 little people??

Samsung's Humming Bird

Samsung Humming Bird ad is probably the most beautiful ad playing right now. The visual effects are amazing. But they're are just so amazing that one forgets to notice the television.

Max New York Life Pension Plans

This is probably the most remarkable and innovative ad on air at the moment. Its a 60 second ad about a man who is enjoying his time after retirement free of any stress owing to his pension plan. The wife is scolding him for his irresponsible behavior. The best part is when the son is peeping through from behind the mother and enjoying the view. Flawless, this is one amazing ad.

Zoozooooooooooo!!!

The zoozoo ads are a little popular and a little unpopular. Popular because some are downright hilarious. Unpopular because some are slightly difficult to grasp in one go. The fact that one ad is being released everyday during the DLF IPL 2009, overwhelms the customer. The services being advertised are for everybody but so many seperate ads might not click the right customer at the right time with the right ad. The collection of 25 ads seem to be developed for the regular IPL follower only, so what about those who don't follow it religiously?
Another problem is that the features, face and eyes, of the characters are made in a strange way. They are frowns instead of smiles. Scary in place of scared.
Though the ads are good. But they fall short of being excellent.

Hero Honda Passion Plus

This ad captures the features of the bike within the period of waiting between a red light and green light. The concept is not only well perceived but also well presented. Kudos to Percept H.

Aamir rocking in Incredible India!

Aamir is this fabulous actor and he has this amazing history with ads. Remember "Thanda matlab coca cola"? Just fab!
Here is the latest for the Aamir Khan lovers :

The best thing about Aamir signing this ad is his nationalist image. Rang De Basanti. Lagaan.
Part I deals with this issue of writing on the walls on tourist spots. Which has always irritated me personally. I hate the sight of those random names and love messages on historic walls. And I think everybody does. And yet people do that and nobody cares to stop them. This ad presents the idea so beautifully and its nothing like a lecture or anything either.

This is another one of the Incredible India TVC with Aamir Khan. I like this one better than the previous one. Specially after the terror attacks in Mumbai, I think this ad was particularly important. We have to make the country more inviting for tourist. It is high time we improved.

Shahid acceptable, finally!

If I see Shahid Kapoor in a commercial, I usually wonder who the hell thinks his image can sell a product. He doesn't look like a fully grown man. He doesn't look like a teenager. He doesn't look anything in between either. I really can't guess his age. So I can't think of a place where to place him.
But yes, Shahid dances well. And in this particular TVC Shahid has been able to look not only grown up but really he reminds me of Hrithik Roshan in a very positive way. He is dancing well. The expression is confident. Nice.
